Cape Town, 1 March 2025 – Digital Frontiers is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Malone as its new Chief Executive Officer. Todd Malone brings a wealth of experience in international development, education, and public health, positioning him to drive Digital Frontiers toward greater impact in the development sector.
With over two decades of leadership across global non-profits, social enterprises, and independent organisations, Todd Malone has a proven track record of delivering large-scale programmes and forming strategic partnerships. His extensive background includes senior roles at Pact, Save the Children, and the Academy of Educational Development. Most recently, as Managing Director and Executive Vice President at the Cape Town-based BroadReach Health Development, he led a multimillion-dollar health development business unit, overseeing over 1,000 global staff and managing significant projects such as PEPFAR-funded initiatives valued at more than $200 million.
Todd’s career spans leadership roles across Africa and is marked by his ability to forge strong partnerships with governments, funders, and implementing partners worldwide. As Chief of Party for USAID/PEPFAR programmes in South Africa and Regional Vice President for Africa, Latin America, and Global Projects at Pact, Inc., he managed portfolios exceeding $100 million annually across 25 countries. His deep expertise in strategic business development, operations, capacity building and the development sector will be instrumental in steering Digital Frontiers towards new opportunities for growth and innovation.
Holding a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Education from the University of Cape Town, Todd combines academic rigor with practical leadership experience. His early career included service with AmeriCorps and Peace Corps, where he led education and disaster recovery initiatives, setting the foundation for his lifelong commitment to development and impact.
