Our Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP) graduate and CEO of Paytek, Joao Gaspar’s, impact resonates profoundly within Mozambique’s fintech landscape. Paytek has been participating in the Central Bank Sandbox where Joao contributed by testing products and showing how they can implement a new service offering, deal with consumer protection, anti-money laundering (AML), and quality assurance and control (QAC). While consulting for FSD, he commented on draft laws that the Central Bank issued for basic bank accounts, including the payment service provider law. He also developed a basic framework for internal privacy for mobile money operators in Mozambique.
