Kombe Kaponda

Dr Kombe Kaponda is an award-winning Fintech and emerging technologies researcher, recognised in 2024 by the ICT Association of Zambia. With over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, he specialises in cybersecurity, IT operations, and project management. A seasoned Central Banker and ICT infrastructure expert, he currently leads Zambia’s CBDC feasibility research and the Bank’s 2024–2027 ICT strategy, driving digital transformation and modernisation. His work focuses on aligning digital innovation with financial stability, regulatory compliance, and inclusive payment systems. Dr Kaponda is a published author, public speaker, and certified leader with expertise in AI in finance, blockchain, and cybersecurity. He holds multiple certifications from top tech vendors and is passionate about technology for social impact, food security, and lifelong learning.
